Sarah Emaline Matilda McGee was born on August 3, 1848 in Savannah, Hardin, Tennessee, United States, daughter of John Henry McGee (~1804–1860) and Sarah Ann Tracey (~1805–1896).[1]
In 1850, Sarah (1) was living in District 12, Wayne with her siblings, John (45), Lavinia (16), James S (13), and John B (6); and Sarah McGee (45), Erasmus T McGee (14), William H H McGee (12), Marry McGee (11), Adolphus B McGee (8), Jamima McGee (9), Cub McGee (3), and Matilda McGee (2). [1]
Sarah (20) married James Monroe Barnhill (25) (born on May 12, 1843 in Hardin Co, Tennessee) on January 14, 1869 in Hardin, TN. Their children were:
