In 1900, Sampson, 57 years old, his mother had passed away and his brother, John lived in the household with the family.[5]
By the 1920 Census, his wife Mary was the head of household and living with Sampson's brother, John who lived with them his entire adult life.[6]
He passed away 9 May 1909 in Monroe, Missouri.
