He registered for the fourth draft for World War II on 26 April 1942. This registration was also known as the "old man's draft". At that time, his residence was at 123 LaSalle Street in Lafayette, Lafayette Parish, LA. He gave his wife, Mrs. George Rivette, as someone who would always know his address. George was described as about 5 feet 11-1/2 inches tall, 196 pounds, with gray eyes, gray hair, and ruddy complexion. He was self employed.[3]
George Rivette died at age 69 in June 1964 in LA.[8]
George had a sister, Annette, born less than seven months after him. It's possible that there is an error in one of the birth dates. But it seems more likely that Annette could have been born prematurely, which the fact that she died at birth seems to support.
