Biography

Birth

Nothing is known of the ancestry of Martha "Patty" Howard. Based on her age at her death from her cemetery record, she was born about 1787,^[1] and on her age on her marriage record, about 1785. Her marriage record gives her birthplace as Livermore, Maine, which in the 1780s was the plantation of Port Royal, Massachusetts.^[2]

Marriage

On 26 Feb 1814, Patty Howard of Livermore, Maine, and Amos Phillips of Leeds, Maine, (then both in Massachusetts) published at Livermore their intention to marry.^[2] They published their intention at Leeds the following day, and their marriage certificate was entered at Leeds of 26 Mar 1814 with the groom's age give as 30 and the bride's as 28.^[2]

Death

According to a record in the Faylene Hutton Cemetery Collection, Martha Phillips died in 1826 and is buried at Hillman's Yard in Livermore, Maine.^[1] She probably died at either Leeds or Livermore, Maine.
