Biography

Dorothy, nicknamed Dot, was born in 1916 in Rosedale, Pierce County, Washington. Rosedale is a small community near Gig Harbor. Her father was a carpenter and at the time of her birth, he was remodeling the Rosedale church. It is believed that the family was living in the parish house and that Dorothy was born at home. The mode of transportation at that time to the City of Tacoma was via boats that were part of the mosquito fleet. Rosedale was the site of one of those boat landings.

1920 - Dorothy was living with her parents at 4325 Yakima Ave, Tacoma, Pierce co., Washington.

1930 - Dorothy was living with her parents in Midland, Pierce Co., Washington. A suburb of Tacoma.

1940 - Dorothy was 23 years old, single, birthplace is Washington, living with her parents on Phillips Road, Custer precinct (Lakewood, WA). She was asked the supplemental questions: Fathers birthplace = Iowa. Mothers birthplace = Iowa. She was a telephone operator and had completed 1 year of high school.

She married Robert Francis Phair on 24 Aug 1940. Marriage license was obtained in King Co,. WA on 16 Aug 1940.

She passed away in 1970 in Puyallup, WA.
