Ann (Bunce) Brockman is Notable.

Ann was born c1600 daughter of Simon Bunce of Linstead and Dorothy (born Grimsdiche). From her memorial it would appear her father was a Lawyer.

Ann Brockman born Ann Bunce known as Ann, Lady Brockman was an English writer on medicine. She ran an estate in Kent and in 1638 she compiled a "Book of Receits" listing a wide range of medicines to treat maladies from headache to plague.

In 1643 she wrote a petition requesting that her husband be released from prison.

She had five children Martha, Anne, James, Helen, and Margery, who lived to be adults.

Ann married Sir William Brockman, son of Henry Brockman and Helena Sawkins, on 28 May 1616.[1]

She is memorialised in St Nicholas Churchyard, Newington. There is an inscription to William and Ann in the Chancel which is painted on woodwork in Latin which was commissioned by their son James in 1665. "Venerandae et indelebili Parentûm Memeoriae Gulielmi Brockman (Hen. Brockman de Beachborough Arm. Filij) tam Dei quam Regis verè Militis aurati, et Annae Conjugis (Sun. Bunce de Otterinden, Juris consulti), Filiae Dominae, Caelo et Terrâ amabilissimae. Quorum Ossa, certâ Spe Resurrectionis, hic substrata, reponuntur. Pietas Filialis Jacobi Brockman, Armigeri hanc tennem, Appendicem, summâ cum Reverentiâ dedicavit, Anno. Dom. 1665. W.B. obijt Dec. 6 1654 A.B. obijt Nov. 29 1660"

Translation. To the venerable and indelible memory of the parents of William Brockman (Hen. Brockman of the Beachborough Arm.) Son of both God and the King, a truly gilded soldier, and Anne Spouse (Sun. Bunce of Otterinden, Lawyer), Daughter of the Lady, Heaven and Earth. Whose Bones, certainly With the hope of the Resurrection, here substratum, they are placed. Pietas Filial Jacobi Brockman, dedicated this tenn to the Armiger, Appendix, summâ with Reverentiâ, Anno. Dom. 1665. William Brockman obijt Dec. 6 1654 Ann Brockman obijt Nov. 29 1660"
