• The National Society of the United States Daughters of 1812 has William Phares born c1780/90, died c1841, married to Elizabeth Faircloth. He was a private in Capt. William A. Lucas' Co. of Infantry, Louisiana. His son Samuel married Sarah Ann Nolan.^[1] See Pierce Noland's profile for leads on Sarah Ann.

• The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution has Samuel Phares (1761-1837) in North Carolina with a son William who married Elizabeth & whose daughter Ann married William Avery Noland.^[2] See Pierce Noland's profile for leads on William Avery Noland (son of Pierce Noland and Nancy Palmer) who married Ann Phares. The WikiTree profile for Ann Phares is attached to William Avery Noland, son of William Avery Noland and his wife Lory Loving. (So, more research needed.)

• Some genealogies have William Phares married first to Elizabeth Starnes in South Carolina, and second to Mrs. Catherine Bohannon--perhaps formerly Katrina Waltman. ^[3] However, one note on FG suggests that the William Phares who married Elizabeth Starnes was born earlier and died 1821.
