Biography
Elizabeth's origins are unknown. Her birth year of 1634 is based upon her first marriage by 1654. Although Torrey gives their marriage "by 1658", based on her known children with William Gutterson, they likely married by 1654.
Elizabeth _______ married first William Gutterson by 1658, at Ipswich.[1] William died June 26, 1666.[2]
Elizabeth and William's known children were:[2][3]
- Susanna, born about 1654; died at Andover December 29, 1710; married Samuel Preston May 27, 1672 at Andover
- William, born September 20, 1658; died at Ipswich January 29, 1659
- Elizabeth, born about 1659, "aged about 18 in 1677"; no further record
- Mary, born August 8, 1660; died after 1718 when she administered her husband's estate; married Hanniel Clark at Haverhill August 20, 1678
- John, born March 26, 1661-2; died after 1700; married at Andover January 14, 1688-9, Abigail Buckmaster
- Sarah, born July 3, 1665; died after April 1701 when her last child was born; married Israel Hendrick at Haverhill, November 8, 1688
Elizabeth married second John Callum/Collins/Killham in 1670 after the death of William. [1] Their marriage took place November 17, 1670 at Haverhill. Elizabeth and John had one child, Joanna, born in May, 1672. Elizabeth was John Callum's widow when he died February 25, 1693-4.[3][4]
Research Notes
An Elizabeth Cade was born 8 April 1620 in Alvingham, Lincolnshire, England to Richard Cade. A marriage between an Elizabeth Cade and William Gutterson took place on May 14, 1644 in Yarburgh, Lincolnshire, England. There is no information to support that this is the same Elizabeth. In fact, based on Elizabeth (___) (Gutterson) Callum giving birth to a daughter, Joanna in 1672, it is very unlikely that the Elizabeth Cade born in 1620 is the same as this Elizabeth ______.
