Biography

Edward John Clancy was born in 1898 in LaSalle, LaSalle County, Illinois, the son of WIlliam John Clancy, Sr. (1867-1943) and Martha Jane Brennan (1871-1948).

He appears in his parents' home in the 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1940 US Census, but he at 21 and brother James as 19 live with the Koss family in LaSalle in 1930 (perhaps their parents' home was too crowded then).

Edward enlisted in the US Navy and served as Seaman 2nd Class from 1918-1921.^[1][2]

Edward enlisted again, at age 43, and served in WWII on 16 Feb 1942, employed by W. J. Clancy (his father at Clancy's Drug Store in LaSalle), 6'1", brown hair with blue eyes, and residing at his parents' home at 1035 Marquette St. , LaSalle, IL.

Edward passed away at age 46 in 1944, likely killed in WWII. Edward was a druggist who likely worked alongside his father at Clancy's Drug Store in LaSalle, and was buried in St. Vincent Cemetery in LaSalle.^[3][4]
