John Robert was born about 1855.[1] He is the son of Michael Costigan and Sarah Unknown. As of 1860, he was attending school and living with his parents and two siblings in New Haven.[2] As of 1870, he was still attending school and living with his parents and four siblings in New Haven.[3] As of 1880, he was working as a laborer and living with his parents and two of his siblings at 131 Dixwell Avenue in New Haven.[4] John passed away in 1896 and was buried at Saint Bernard's Cemetery in New Haven.[5]
