Biography

Margaret was born on 29 September 1906 in Plumbridge, County Tyrone, Ireland.^[1] She was the daughter of John Conway and Bridget Morris. In the 1911 census Marget (age 4) was the daughter of John Conway in Craigatuke, Lislea, CountyTyrone, Ireland.^[2] She attended schools in Ireland.

Margaret immigrated to the United States, arriving on 5 October 1930 on the ship Caledonia. She declared her intention to naturalize as a US citizen on 14 June 1934.^[3]

Margaret (age 34) married Patrick McAleer on 27 September 1941 in Manhattan, New York City, New York.^[4] Margaret and Patrick lived in Southampton, Long Island, New York, until 1946 when she moved to Ridgefield, Connecticut.

Margaret died on Thursday, 4 March 2004, at Hancock Hall, Danbury. A mass of Christian burial was said on Tuesday, 9 March 2004, at Saint Mary's where Margaret had been a member of the church and its Rosary Society. Memorial contributions were directed to Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield or to the Hancock Hall Resident Recreational Fund in Danbury.^[5] She was buried in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Ridgefield, Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States.^[6]
