Biography

John was born in 1814. He is the son of Henry Dyche and Jane Delaney. Spelling of last name appears to have changed between 1833 and 1850 from Dyke to Dyche.

He was a Confederate in the 39th North Carolina Infantry in the Civil War, and he was also in the Hall County Georgia Militia in 1864.[1]

Residence Cherokee County NC; 48 years old.

Enlisted on 9/4/1861 at Cherokee County, NC as a 1st Lieutenant.

On 5/16/1862 he mustered into "A" Co. NC 39th Infantry He Resigned, disability on 12/24/1862

He was listed as:

  • Surrendered 5/23/1865 Augusta, GA (Per Fed Provost Marshall)
