George Lumley was the son of John, Baron Lumley, and Joan, daughter of Henry, Lord Scrope.[1]
George married Jane Knightley, daughter of Sir Richard Knightley Fawsley, Northamptonshire,[2] and Jane Spencer. They had three children: John (1534?-1609),[3] Jane and Barbara.[1]
Jane married Geoffrey Markham. Barbara married first Humphrey Lloyd and then William Williams of Cockwillan, Carnavon.[1]
George was found guilty of high treason on 27 May 1537 for his involvement in Bigod's rebellion, related to Henry VII dissolution of the monasteries. He was hanged, drawn and quartered at Tyburn on 2 June, buried at Crutched Friars, London.[1][2][3]
