In 1881 Benjamin is 24, farming in Durham West with his parents Benjamin Powell, 62 and Mary Powell, 60 and his siblings Margaret Powell, 22; Susannah Powell, 20; Roseannah Powell, 16 and Edward Hubbard, 13[3].
Benjamin married Mary Ann Hubbard on 31 Jan 1883 in Darlington Twp, Ontario[4].
In 1891 Benjamin was 36, farming in Darlington, Durham West, Ontario with his spouse Mary Ann Powell, 36 and their children; Charles Powell, 16; Wesley Powell, 14 and Mabel Powell, 10[5].
In 1901 Benjamin was 44, farming in Darlington, Durham West, Ontario with his spouse Mary Ann Powell, 26 and their children; Charles Powell, 7; Wesley Powell, 4 and Mabel Powell, 1[6].
In 1911 Benjamin was 54, farming in Darlington, Durham West, Ontario with his spouse Mary Ann Powell, 46 and their daughter Mabel Powell, 21. Allan Cameron, 40, a farm hand, lived with them[7].
In 1921 Benjamin was 64, a Clerk, living at 120 Brock St E., Oshawa with Mary Ann, 56 and their daughter Mabel Powell, 31, also a Clerk. His parents had been born in England[8].
Benjamin, a retired Grocer, died of acute Myocardial Failure and Arteriosclerosis in 1942, age 86, still living at 120 Brock St. E. Oshawa[9]. He was buried with Mary Ann and Mabel in Oshawa Union Cemetery, Oshawa, Durham Regional Municipality, Ontario[10].
