Biography

Therese (Bloch) Wise has Jewish Roots.

Therese Bloch was a daughter of Herman Bloch of the village (now extinct) of Grafenried in Bohemia.^[1] She was born on 16 March 1822.^[2]

She married Rabbi Isaac Mayer Weis (later Wise) on 26 May 1844, in Grafenried. He had worked in the Bloch household as a tutor before he became a rabbi. ^[1]

Their first child, daughter Emily, was born on 22 February 1846.^[1]

She died on 10 February 1874 and is buried in Walnut Hills Jewish Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio. ^[2]
