Unfortunately, this source mentions an Abigail Reeves of Southampton, Long Island who married a Samuel Cooper. I'm unsure how the book by Emma Reeves would pertain to the family of James and Abigail Cooper. I think this information suggests that the Abigail Cooper who married Samuel has been conflated with the Abigail who married James, and this makes me doubt that the woman who died 16 Apr 1734 in Southampton was the Abigail Cooper who married James. I've updated Abigail's profile to address this issue. Please alert me if you find any reliable sources that can address this problem. Thanks!
Update: I think it's possible that James Cooper Jr. (1700-aft.1753) never had a wife named Abigail. If Emma Reeve's book is correct, it might be possible that published works that mention a wife of James named Abigail might have conflated his wife with Mrs. Samuel (Abigail) Cooper who died in Southampton on 16 Apr 1734 at the age of 33. The will of James Cooper mentions a widow named Mary, not Abigail. More research is needed. For now, I'm assuming Emma Reeve's book is correct until I find reason to doubt it. Thanks for your help!
