Biography

Asa Lyon Shipman was born in Connecticut 25 September 1814 to Degrasse Shipman and Lydia Kelsey Chapman.[1]

He married Deborah Jane Rile 3 October 1844, they had at three children:[2][3][4][5]

  1. James Degrass Shipman, married Jessie Roberts 27 October 1889;[6]
  2. Edward Lester Shipman, married Mary Smythe 13 January 1870;[7]
  3. Catherine "Kate" Louise Shipman Ely, married Nathan Lynde Ely 12 June 1873.[8]

Asa passed away in 1888[9] or 1909.[10]
