Mary Dorothy Churton, the daughter of John Churton and Mary Falwasser, was born about 1837.
She married Richard Annesley Eyre on on 23 September 1869 at Auckland, New Zealand[1]
MARRIAGE
On September 23, at the private chapel, Bishop's Court, Auckland, N. Z., by the Rev. Dr. Maunsell, LL D., assisted by the Rev. B. T. Dudley, brother-in-law of the bride, R. Annesley Eyre, late Captain H.M. 53rd Regiment, eldest son of the Rev. R. B. Eyre, of Eyre Court, County Galway, Ireland, to Mary Dora (sic), fifth daughter of the late Rev. J. F. Churton, LL B., Colonial Chaplain and Minister of St. Paul's, Auckland, New Zealand.[2]
Mary Dorothy (née Churton) Eyre died on 20 September 1923 at Invercargill, South Island, New Zealand. [3]

EYRE.-At her residence, 171 Don street, Invercaghill, on Thursday, September 20, 1923, Mary Dorothy Eyre, widow of R. Annesley Eyre (late Captain H.M. 53rd Regiment), and fifth daughter of the late Rev. J. F. Churton, LL.B. (first incumbent St. Paul's Church, Auckland). [4]

MRS. M. D. EYRE
The death occurred at Invercargill on Saturday last of Mrs. Mary Dorothy Eyre, widow of Captain R. Annesley Eyre, of the 53rd Regiment. The deceased was the fifth daughter of the late Rev. J. F. Churton who was the first incumbent of St. Paul's Church, Auckland, and whose memory is perpetuated by the monument now standing in Emily Place at the end of Princes Street.[5]
She was buried at Saint Johns Cemetery, Invercargill, Southland, New Zealand.[6]
