Biography
Anson was born in 1772. He was the son of Moses Allen and Mary Adams. He passed away in 1832.
"Anson was a mathematician and astronomer of considerable reputation in New England, author of, and made the calculations for Allen's New England Almanac, which had a large circulation. He also made lenses for telescopes.
He married Rebecca Nickols on February 26, 1792 in Enfield, Connecticut and they had five children: Rebecca, Solomon, Anson Jr., Almira, and Emily."
