Nathaniel was born about 1700. He passed away in 1782.
Nathaniel married Elizabeth Unknown - parents of Mary (Smith) Haskins, b. 1740/1
In 1750, he bought land in Middleborough from William Halloway,[1] this land was later bequeathed to his grandson, Job Smith.
In 1768, Nathaniel bought from Joseph Houlton et ux Rebecca land that was located in New Salem,[2] which he later bequeathed to his grandsons, George Smith, and Jacob Smith, sons of his son George Smith.
He married Marcy King of Dighton on 14 December 1771 in Middleborough.[3]
Probate
The will of Nathaniel Smith of Middleborough, yeoman was dated 18 April 1782 and proved on 7 October 1782 in Plymouth. He mentions his wife Mercy, and his children, John Smith (eldest son)(and his wife Annah), George Smith (and his wife Hannah), Elizabeth Richmond, Ann Hoar, Mary Burden, and his grandchildren, Nathaniel Smith, Job Smith, John Smith, Joshua Smith, (Anna Keen, Elizabeth Smith, and Abiah Smith - daughters of his son John Smith), George Smith (son of George), Jacob Smith (son of George), Abiel Smith, and Elijah Smith (executor).
