Biography

James was born in 1925. He was the son of Lorne Weldon and Helen Wry. He passed away in 2005.


OBITUARY James E. Weldon, of Sackville, N.B. occurred on Saturday James Edward Weldon 1925 - 2005 SACKVILLE, NB - The death of James E. Weldon, of Sackville, N.B. occurred on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at the Sackville Memorial Hospital, Sackville, N.B. Born on September 28, 1925 in Middle Sackville, N.B., he was the son of the late J.G. Lorne and Helen (Wry) Weldon. James was a veteran of the 2nd World War, having served with the Royal Canadian Navy. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #26, Sackville, past member of Kinsmen and K-40, and for many years was president of J.E. Weldon Ltd., a GM auto dealership in Sackville, N.B. He also served a number of years on the district school boards. Jim was an amateur artist and enjoyed curling, boating, golf and woodworking. His cottage at Murray Corner was self-built, yet he liked to say he was a "jack-of-all trades but master of none". He will be greatly missed by his wife, Lois (Waterson); son, Michael (Frances); daughters, Heather (Eric) and Bonnie (Tim); grandchildren, Owen (Shelley), Victoria (Kevin), Will and Aleaha; nephew, Alan; and niece, Anne (Stanley). He was predeceased by his brother, Robert; and sister-in-law, Geraldine. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation or funeral service at his request. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jim may be made to the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or to the charity of ones choice.
