According to research from Bruce Morrison in 1998: Hester's father was John Gordon of Bedford Co., PA. She m. Isaac Denny of Alleghany Co., MD in around 1801 in Bedford Co., PA. In 1820, they were in Southampton Twp., Bedford Co., PA. By 1850, they were in Clayton, Perry Co., OH.

When Hester's brother Absalom Gordon died on 20 November 1833 in Southampton Twp., Bedford County, PA, Hester & Isaac Denny may have been in Alleghany Co., MD. Absalom Gordon died intestate, leaving no father, mother, widow, or child. His estate, which consisted of lands amounting to approx. 200 acres in Southampton Twp., adjoining lands of William Gordon and Thomas Gordon, was left to his brothers and sisters. The record can be found in the petition to Orphans Court, Bedford Co., PA. Vol. 4, pg.64-65. Estate of Absalom Gordon.

John Krauss, a great grandson of Hester's brother James G. Gordon, has information on his Gordon line in the LDS genealogy records.
