Mrs. Charlotte Ann Malchon, 78, of West Broadway, Jim Thorpe, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 15, in her home, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the widow of John F. Malchon, who died April 11, 2001. They had been married for over 40 years.
She was the Jim Thorpe Borough secretary for 18 years prior to retiring in 1995.
Born in McKees Rocks, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Keil) Weil of Pittsburgh.
She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Jim Thorpe.
Charlotte loved spending time with her family. She was a very active grandmother and participated in all aspects of her grandsons' lives. She also enjoyed going to lunch with her friends, playing bingo, and going to the casino.
Surviving is three daughters, Karen, wife of John Yaich, and Kathleen, wife of Keith Hontz, both of Jim Thorpe, and Charlotte, wife of James Youngkin of Lansford; a son John of Jim Thorpe; a brother, William C. of Pittsburgh; five grandsons, Michael, Keith, Joshua, James and Matthew; and many nieces and nephews.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, Edward F. Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe; Mass of the Christian Burial 11:30 a.m., Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Jim Thorpe. Interment, parish cemetery, Jim Thorpe. Call 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 10-11 a.m. Friday. Contributions in her name may be made to the church, 180 W.
