In 1861[3] William (2) was living with his parents
John (28) "coal miner" and Sarah (28) in Tibshelf together with his siblings Eliza (5) and Ann (4) .
In 1871[4] William (12) "coal miner" was living with his parents John (35) "coal miner" and Sarah (35) in Suly's Terrace, Tibshelf together with his siblings Ann (14) "at home", Mary A (8) and John H (2).
Marriage William married Hephzibah Wass on 25 December 1879 in Tibshelf [5][6].
William and Hephzibah had five children according to 1911 Census [7] 4 living, one dead:
In 1881[13] William (22) "coal miner" and Hephzibah (21) were living at 10 Sunny Rise Tibshelf together with a cousin Albert Edward Brooks (7).
In 1891[14] William (32) "coal miner" and Hephzibah (31) were living in Tibshelf together with their children Ethel (9), John (7), George (5) and Margaret (4).
In 1901[15] William (42) "Colliery under manager" and Hephzibah (41) were living in Wharf Pinxton together with their children John (16) "under manager assistant", George (15) "coal miner, horse driver" and Margaret (13).
In 1911[16][7] William (52) "Colliery Deputy Below Ground" and Hephzibar (51) were living at 63 Fern Terrace Kirkby In Ashfield Notts together with unmarried daughter Margaret Annie (23) "millinery showroom assistant" and a boarder Mabel Emma Smith (23) "drapery shop assistant".
In 1921[17] William (62) "Colliery Under Manager" and Hephzibar (61) were living at Croft Lynm, George Street, Kirkby-In-Ashfield together with daughter Margaret Anne (33) "millinery saleswoman" and grandson Stanley Ward (9).
Died William died age 72 in 1931[18] and was buried in Kingsway Old Cemetery, Kirkby-in-Ashfield [19]
