Biography
Abel was born in 1758.[1] He was the son of Abel Tyler and Jemima Richards. He married Susannah Alderman[2] and they had several children. He passed away about 1838.[1]
Abel Tyler served in the Revolutionary War.
There is a mistake in The Tyler Genealogy book. Abel Tyler did not marry Stratira Emmons. He married Susannah Alderman. Stratira Emmons married Abel's brother Abiel. It appears the author knew he'd made a mistake somewhere because on page 270, Amos Tyler's line is "conjectural." Amos did not have a son named Abel. This Abel had a son named Abel Tyler Jr. Abel Tyler Jr had a son named Abel Royce Tyler, who was a physician in Grant County, Wisconsin.
