Biography
Samuel Martin was born in Eastern Ontario, Canada, son of immigrant farmer William Martin of Ireland.
In 1851, he lived with his parents but his trade was shoemaking, rather than farming.
He later married Eliza Holmes, and they two daughters and one son.
In the 1891 census, he is listed as an Artist.
