George was born about 1828 in Tennessee. He is the son of Nathaniel Watson Dandridge and Eliza G Moore. George was first in 1850 a Overseer for Overseer for a William S Taylor who himself had 22 slaves in Harrison County , Texas. he went on to have his own farm by 1860 and five slaves.

He married Penelope Catherine Smith in 1857 in Shelby Tennesee[1] and are found living in Bowie County, Texas.
