Biography

Parents, Birth and Baptism

Honore was born in 20 Feb 1829 in Platenville, Assumption, Louisian as the son of Pierre and Rosalie Cancienne.[1] Along with his siblings, he was listed as living in their household in 1850.[2]


Marriage and Children

Honore married Rosalie Blanchard on 7 May 1855 in Plattenville. [3] With Rosalie, Honore had 4 children. It is likely Honore and Rosalie both died between 1860 and 1870 since, after that, their children can be found living in different relative's households. The children

  • Marie Alice Cancienne Delaune, 1856 - 1910[4]
  • Desire Luson Cancienne, 1857 - 1890[5]. Found in 1870 (as Desire Causien) in the house of Valsin and Florentin Blanchard, his uncle and grandfather on this mother's side. [6]
  • Augustin Arestide Cancienne, 1859 - 1950 [7] Found in 1870 (as Aristide Cancien) in the house of Joseph Arcenaux, a cousin on his mother's side. [8]
  • Numa Joseph Cancienne, 1862 - 1921[9]. Found in 1870 (as Numa Causiene) in the house of Amadee Blanchard, an uncle on his mother's side.[10]
