Swan Peterson lived in Sweden

Swan Peterson was born on 26 Aug 1850 in Haland, Sweden^[1][2][3]

He immigrated in 1876 and married Maria Person ? (b Apr 1860) (NOTE: The accurate spelling of her original birth name is still in question and not substantiated.) in 1884.^[2] OR 27 Oct 1886 according to the church register in Kanesholm, PA^[4].

Seven children are named on the Lebanon Lutheran Church Register: Esther Alida or Elida Peterson (abt.1884-) (b 3 Jun 1884 in Kane, PA), Hanna Benedikta Peterson (abt.1885-) (b 30 Dec 1885), Johan Robert Peterson (abt.1888-) (b 17 Feb 1888), Peter Edward Peterson (abt.1890-1944) (b 15 Jan 1890), David Bernhard Peterson (abt.1892-) (b 23 Mar 1892), Ivan Ferdinand Peterson (abt.1895-) (written as Evan in error) (b 24 Jan 1895) and Alma H Peterson (1897-1984) (b 23 Mar 1897) all born in Kanesholm, PA^[4]

On 23 Mar 1897, their daughter Alma H Peterson (1897-1984) was born in Kanesholm, PA and baptized at the Tabor Lutheran Church, Kane, McKean, Pennsylvania.^[5]

On 19 Jun 1900, Swan had been in the US for 25 years, was naturalized, and working as a farmer. He (49) and Mary (40) had been married for 16 years and owned their own farm (free of any mortgage) in Hamlin, McKean, Pennsylvania where they lived with seven children: Esther Alida or Elida Peterson (abt.1884-) (15), Hanna Benedikta Peterson (abt.1885-) (14), Johan Robert Peterson (abt.1888-) "John" (12), Peter Edward Peterson (abt.1890-1944) (10), David Bernhard Peterson (abt.1892-) (8), Ivan Ferdinand Peterson (abt.1895-) (5), and Alma H Peterson (1897-1984) (3).^[2]

Swan died about 1909 at the age of 58-59 and was interred at the Lebanon Lutheran Cemetery in Kanesholm, McKean, Pennsylvania.^[3]

BIRTH: No birth/baptismal record has been found in Sweden EMIGRATION and IMMIGRATION: Note yet found DEATH: No substantiating Pennsylvania death record with actual date has been located.

WIFE's MAIDEN NAME: Maria vs Mary AND Persson vs Pearson vs Person vs ...

• Son Peter Edward Peterson (abt.1890-1944)'s death certificate has her name as Mary Persson
• Daughter Esther Alida or Elida Peterson (abt.1884-)'s death certificate has her name as Pearson
• I've made no progress in finding accurate substantiating record of her birth/baptism BUT did find a clearly written Kanesholm Lebanon Lutheran Church register that names everyone (2 names may or may not be right) - but I will procede with profiles. The wife may need a name change once the profile is entered - I'll do her last just in case someone can find her record.

Note: I am unable to find substantiation of his wife's original birth name and haverelinquished management, since I am not a bloodline relative, and have done what I could. Family input and an image and/or accurate URL for her Swedish birth record is needed in order to create a personal profile for her. If you see this ... think about providing an image of the substantiating birth record from Halland area of Sweden.
