Ann was born about 1715. She is the daughter of William Nisbet. Note unknown mother was born about 13 years after the last child with Janet Rankine and not the daughter of Agnes Dick according to the baptism 1719 of 1st child with William. maybe she is older and a daughter of his first wife?

John Snodgrass, a minor, proprietor of Burnthills, Fauidubs, Goldenknows, Whinderston, Todholes, and Auchlodmont, besides the lands of NeiIsland, and various houses and tenements in the town and parish of Paisley. After his father's death he removed to Edinburgh, where he continued to practise as a writer. In 1724, he purchased at a judicial sale the lands and estate of Cuninghamehead, comprehending the five merk land of Newton, the five merk land of Byres, or dominical lands of Cuninghamehead, with the manor place, mills, &c. He married, in 1737, Ann, daughter of William Nisbet, at Dirleton House, a younger son of that family (THIS IS CLAIMED but NOT PROVEN to be TRUE her father worked for the Nisbets of Dirleton as a factor writer and chamberlain). He removed soon afterwards with his family to Cuninghame-head, where he chiefly resided till his death, which occurred in 1771. He left three sons and four daughters—I. Neil, who succeeded. 2. William, who went early to America. With many other British subjects, he was obliged to return at the breaking out of the war with that country; and having afterwards gone to the Bast Indies, be acquired an independent fortune, with which he returned to his native country. 3. John, entered the army, and having joined the 82d or Hamilton Regiment, was ordered to America, but the vessel was wrecked, when be and many others perished.
