Mary Beatrice Blackwell Monypenny was born on 15 March 1872 in Scoonie, Fife, Scotland, United Kingdom, daughter of James Robert Blackwell Monypenny (1835–1886) and Mary Elizabeth Lane (1843–1920).^[1]
