Anders Nielsen was born 24 Sep 1818 in Lyngs parish, Refs, Thisted to Marie Nielsdatter and Niels Pedersen. They were unmarried. He was baptized in the church on 25 Sep 1818. He passed away on 3 Jun 1911 in Milton, Morgan, Utah and is buried in plot 7E in Milton Cemetery, Milton, Morgan, Utah. [1][2] His name on his cemetery headstone reads Anders Nielson.
His name is listed as "Andrew Nelson" on his death certificate. He came on the ship, Monarch of the Sea in 1861 with his wife, Dorthea Poulsen Nielsen (age 36) and children, Waldemer Theodore Nielsen (age 7), Laura Nicoline Nielsen (age 3), Mathilda Nielsine Nielsen (age 3), and Joseph Anders Nielsen (age 1). They traveled with the Samuel A. Woolley Company in 1861.
