• Thomas was born about 1747 in Lunenburg Co., VA. He died in South Carolina on 7-18-1826 at the home of Nancy Goodlett, his sister. He is listed in the Revolutionary War Index of South Carolina. He married first to Jessie Wright, called "Jincy" in Virginia and apparently they were still in Lunenburg Co. at the time of their marriage. He and Jincy sold their land in Lunenburg Co. on 9-11-1794. This is the last record that we have of her. Thomas had a land record of 454 acres in the 96th District of South Carolina on the branches of the Saluda River. Unfortunately the majority of the history of Thomas is after his death. However, from all the suits and filing in Probate Court, we have been able to piece together a family, which may not be complete. We find that Thomas was dead by the date of 10-31-1826, as of this date, Edward Hooper, Grandson filed for the sale of the land which consisted of 272 acres on the North side of Saluda River. Thomas married a second time after the death of Jincy to Elizabeth Pollard, daughter of Robert Pollard. Elizabeth was first married to Samuel Young. Thomas and Elizabeth were to have one child, Elizabeth. The other children were from his first marriage.
