Sarah was born in 1827, the daughter of John Dwight Beasley and Sarah (Clough) Beasley.

She married Edward W. Barber, on May 5, 1847 in Ellington, Connecticut^[1]. Together, they had the following known children:

1. Charles E. Barber, b. March 12, 1848, Ellington, Connecticut
2. Sarah M. Barber, b. 10 Jan 1851, East Windsor, Connecticut
