Biography
Lucy H. Amis was the daughter of James Amis and Mary Armstrong.
Lucy married James E. Lee in Hawkins County, Tennessee on 31 March 1868.[1]
She was enumerated in the 1880 census as the 30-year old wife of James E. Lee in Hartmans, Hamblen County, Tennessee. Their household included:[2]

- Maggie Lee 8 Daughter
- David Lee 6 Son
- Oscar Lee 3 Son
- Thomas Lee 10 Son
She died in Russellville, Hamblen County, Tennessee on 4 July 1887. An obituary appeared in the Rogersville Herald on 9 July 1887:[3]
- "At her home near Russellville, on Monday the 4th inst., Mrs. Lucy Lee, wife of James E. Lee, and daughter of the late James A. Amis. The remains were brought up Tuesday and buried in the family burying ground near Amis P.O. Mrs. Lee was a member of the M.E. church, and a worthy child of God. She leaves a husband and four small children, who have the sympathies of a large circle of relatives and friends."
A memorial exists for Lucy in FindAGrave, but the dates are listed incorrectly and there is no tombstone photograph, so it can be discounted as a reliable source.[4]
