Charles Newhouse was born around 1830 in Norwich, England. He was the son of John Newhouse, a groom in domestic service and Elizabeth, formerly Reynolds. [1]
The 1851 census shows Charles living with his mother Elizabeth, widow, and four siblings. [2]
Charles Newhouse was a bachelor and groom living in Hertford Street, Haggerstone, Middlesex, when he married Amelia, daughter of Thomas Rowntree. They were married on 7th July 1856 in St Mary's, Haggerstone, Middlesex. [3]
Charles and Amelia had at least six children; Henry born 1859, Charles born 1861, George born 1863, John born 1866, Alice born 1867 and Austin born 1870. [4] [5]
