Biography
Thomas was born in 1743. He passed away in 1815.
Thomas was son of farmer Nis Hansen and Voldborg Thomasdatter, Tornum. [1]
He was married to Anna Pedersdatter (1745-1820). [1]
In 1790 he acquired Peder Iversen's ½ farm, Kjemsgaard, in Ravning for 5 rd., but transferred it to his son Nis in 1795. [1]
Thomas Nissen in Ravning bought in 1804 for 330 rd. a house of 5 bays in Mejlby, Lintrup, with adjoining land called Vester Sønderling and a piece of property land at Hjortvad field, by the stream that runs around at lille Knorborg. 4 years later his son Peder took over the farm with his parents on a rent. [1]
Thomas and Anna had the following children: [1]
- Nis Thomsen Kjems (1772-1831), took over his father's ½ farm in Ravning in 1795, but moved to Øster Lindet and later Obbekær.
- Iver Thomsen Kjems (1777-1855), married to Gye Andreasdatter (-1824), as a widower married to Ane Ebbesdatter (1789-1868), daughter of farmer Ebbe Hansen, Kalvslund. Farmer in Gudsnap and in Mejlby.
- Peder Thomasen (1779-1841), took over his father's farm on Mejlby Mark in 1807 with his parents on a tenant farm.
- Anders Thomasen (1782-), farmer and lace merchant in Stenderup, Øster Lindet, died a pauper.
- Niels Thomsen (1784-), householder in Lintrup.
