In 1830, she served as Treasurer as well as Manager of the Female African Society. [1] At this time, her plans to serve in Liberia in the future are mentioned.
She first married Mr. Johnson , allegedly prior to going to Liberia.
As of September 1832, she was running a school in Liberia for black women, through the American Colonization Society, in Monovia with the recent death of her first husband, Mr. Johnson. [2]
She died at St Mark's hospital in Liberia in 1864. [3][4]
