Biography

Josephte was born about 1821 calculated from age 74 at death on 16 Apr 1905. However her mother was born 10 Feb 1815 and therefore this must be incorrect. She was likely born after her parent's marriage on 14 Oct 1833. Her death record gives her place of birth as Grand Isle. Her baptismal record has not been located.

On 27 Apr 1857, in St-Basile, Urbain Cormier adult son of the late Pierre Cormier and Ursule Daigle married Josephte Grivois adult daughter of Anselme Grivois and the late Susanne Violet. Witnesses were Grégoire Cormier, possibly the groom's brother Cormier-3937, no signatures. ^[1]

• Dispensation was obtained for a fourth to fourth degree of consanguinity. They were third cousins.

Josette Grivois, 74 year old wife of Urbain Cormier, daughter of Anselme Grivois and Susanne Violette, died at home in Grand Isle, of Influenza (La Grippe), on 16 Apr 1905. Informant was Augustin Thibodeau, undertaker was Paul Violette, both of Grand Isle. ^[2] She was buried in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Grand Isle, Aroostook County, Maine, USA. ^[3]
