Maggie (Johnson) Roberts died from complications of childbirth.
Birth: Margaret "Maggie" Alberta Johnson was born 7 Mar 1865. She was the daughter of Frank Johnson and Mary Hurd in North Berwick, Maine.[1][2][3][4][5]
1870 Census, North Berwick, Maine: [5] "Maggie" age 5, Minnie (indexed as Maria) age 2, and a "Hannah" age 2 months are living with her parents in a home they own. Her father is working in clothing manufacturing.
1880 Census, North Berwick, Maine:[6] Maggie and her siblings are living with her parents (no Hannah is listed.) Maggie, Minnie, Frank are attending school. Mildred age 7 is not. Adalaid Ford a 40 year old, single, vest maker, is a boarder in the home. Her father now lists his occupation as stablekeeper.
Marriage: She married Edgar M Roberts. This is supported by: "Heard-Hurd genealogy, 1610-1987," the genealogy of Margaret's mother Mary C Hurd's family list in which is list Margaret as marrying Edgar M. Roberts, but does not give a date.[7] Edgar was born 12 Jun 1857 in Great Falls a village within Somerworth, New Hampshire. He passes away on 30 Oct 1916 in Boston, Massachusetts. Edgar was a railroad conductor. This information is also supported by their children's vital records.[4][2][8][9][10]
Is it a coincidence that Margaret's brother-in-laws, sister Minnie 's husband Walter Pease; and sister Gertrude's husband David Clark, also, work for the railroad?
Apr 1892 Residence: Frederick Street, Portland, Maine. At the time her husband Edgar was a baggage master.[4]
Death and Burial: 6 Apr 1892 Margaret J. Roberts passed away at 27 years and one month old in Portland, Maine of an internal hemorrhage. The exact date, city and the manner of her death imply she died during or as a result of complications of the birth of her youngest child Marguerite.[3][4] She is buried in the Johnson plot within the Mount Pleasant Cemetary in North Berwick, Maine where her husband and parents will come to be buried.[2]
