Biography

Samuel was born in 1871. He is the son of Henry Baxter and Margaret Neely. ^[1] NB Birth date differs to that used on FAG.

He was 24 when he married Eliza Ballantine on 5 February 1896 in Manhattan, New York. Eliza, daughter of James Ballantine and Eliza Donnelly was aged 25. ^[2]

Samuel and Eliza moved to Bergen, New jersey and in 1920 had 2 children, Samuel Ballentine aged 23 and a daughter Doris aged 20..

Both children had left home by 1930. Samuel and Eliza are living at 97 E Clinton Avenue (Tenafly, Bergen). He is a Broker working for a Stock Company. They later moved to Connecticut where Eliza died in 1937.

Samuel J Baxter died in 1952 aged 80. ^[3]

He is buried at Emmanuel Church Cemetery, Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut.
