Biography
Mary (Rankin) Williams was born on the 23rd of April 1766, possibly in Tennessee (then called the "Indian Reserve." Her father was David Rankin (1745-1802).[1]
Mary was married on 20 June 1793 in Greene County, Tennessee to John Williams. Dan Kennedy conducted the ceremony.[2]
Mary's father David Rankin prepared his will in 1802, "[T]o oldest daughter Mary Williams one dollar and her mother's clock."[1]
In 1830, Mary's household in Greene County contained three free white persons.

- 1 female aged 20 to 29
- 1 female aged 60 to 69 (Mary)
Mary died on 27 October 1848 in Greene County. She was buried in the Mount Bethel Cemetery in Greeneville, Greene County (no marker).[3]
