Biography
Martin Thallodus HAWK was born 15 November 1869, probably in Moultrie County, Illinois where his parents were enumerated in the 1870 census record. He was the son of Jesse Hawk and Nancy Jane NIGHBERT. He died on 1 August 1938 in Washington County, Tennessee.[1]
He was first married to Martha Elizabeth PHILLIPS aka Mattie on 25 February 1904 in Sullivan County, Tennessee.[2]
Mattie was born on 13 August 1879 in Sullivan County, Tennessee to John E. PHILLIPS and Catherine FINCH. She died of Bronchial Pneumonia and Influenza on 8 January 1929 in Washington County, Tennessee.[3]
Martin then married Virginia E. DILLOW aka Virgie on 11 March 1930 in Greene County, Tennessee.[4]
