Catherine Dunbar Persse, the daughter of Dominick Persse and Catherine Maturin, was born on 31 August 1882 at Londonderry, Ireland. ^{[1] [2]}

She is recorded in her father's Green Street, Callan Urban, County Kilkenny household in the 1901 Census of Ireland as "Kathleen Dunbar Persse, Daughter, Age 18, Scholar, Not Married, Place of birth Londonderry City".^{[3] [4]} The same details, her age now 28, are recorded for the 1911 Census of Ireland. ^[5]

She married Godfrey Ellis Foy on 1 May 1917 at Callan, County Kilkenny.^{[6] [7]}

Catherine Dunbar (née Persse) Foy died on 2 November 1957 at Highfield, Drumcondra, Dublin. ^{[8] [9]}
