My Mom, Alice Cecelia Oleffe was 6 years old when her Mom Alice Cecelia Oleffe passed away at the age of 27. Her father, Joseph Marshall Oleffe put my mom and her sister and brothers in an orphanage. Through Ancestry we found that at the age of 8 was she adopted and named Betty Fisher (all this takes place in Wyoming). How further investigation finds that the Fisher's divorced and my mom no longer shows in the census with them.
I believe she may have gone back to the orphanage because she maintained a friendship with a woman named Elizabeth Owen who was Super indent of the Wyoming's Children Society - any information is appreciated if you have knowledge.
