Biography

Some confusion exists regarding who married Joseph Jennings. Was it Elizabeth Bostwick? Or was it Elizabeth Rumsey (Rumsey-143), who first married a Bostwick, then later remarried Joseph Jennings. There exists genealogies showing both, with the same marriage date: Aug. 30, 1744.

In the "History and Genealogy of the Families of Old Fairfield," Vol. 2, pg. 124 (or pg. 127 per the digital [version] www.familysearch.org/library/books/idviewer/418412/127) on Family Search, gives the following genealogy:

"Zechariah Bostwick, s. of Zechariah (Vol. 1, p. 94). He m. Elizabeth Rumsey, dau. of Robert, bapt. 13 Sept. 1713. She married (2) 30 Aug. 1744, Joseph Jennings, 3d. Child, bapt. Fairfield: Mary, bapt. 29 May 1739, d. at Ridgefield, 8 Aug. 1768, in 30 yr.; m. 22 Apr. 1762, Phillip Durr-Bradley."
