Biography

Martin was born on 26 Mar 1879 in Vang, Norway (present day Hamar kommune), the illegitimate son of Ole Olsen and Oline (Andersdatter) Larson.^[1]

Martin emigrated to the United States, departing from Oslo on 23 Sep 1884 with his mother Oline.^[2] Their destination was Clifton, Texas.

Martin married Petra Wold on 10 December 1900 in Bosque, Texas.^[3]

In the 1910 census Martin (age 30) was the married head of household in Lake City, Modoc, California.^[4] He lived with his wife Petra (26) and children Hans (7), Clarence (5), and Mabel (0).

In the 1920 census Marten (age 39) was the married head of household in Bosque, Texas.^[5]

In the 1930 census Martin (age 50) was the married head of household in Precinct 1, Bosque, Texas.^[6]

He passed away on 14 May 1960 in Meridian, Texas.^[7][8]
