LOLETA FERRARI OBITUARY Denton Ferrari November 22, 1927-December 11, 2013 OKLAHOMA CITY Loleta Marie Denton Ferrari went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 11, 2013. She was born November 22, 1927 in Big Spring, Texas, the fifth of 6 children born to Odis and Annie Mae Denton. Marie grew up on the family farm and attended elementary and high schools in the Big Spring, Texas area. She was a true Southern Lady of grace, elegance, sophistication and beauty who spent most of her adult life in the Dallas metroplex area as an executive secretary and realtor. Marie married Joseph Joe Ferrari on February 16, 1973, living in Dallas for several years before they moved to their retirement dream home in Lake Kiowa, Texas in 1981. Marie was an avid traveler and golfer and loved to read, garden and volunteer in many community service and civic organizations. She was well known for her benevolence and philanthropic contributions to North Texas institutions of higher education, establishing scholarship opportunities for students who could not otherwise afford to go to college. She moved to Oklahoma City in 2000, where she continued to enjoy retirement and involvement with her family, friends, community and particularly her beloved St. Andrews United Methodist Church family where she was an active member and continued to exhibit her extreme generosity in supporting several orphans and children in foreign countries. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Odis and Annie Mae Denton; her husband, Joe; sisters Ruby Alice Thames-Rhodes and Ethel Merle Willborn; and, brothers Marion Clyde Denton and Leon Warren Pete Denton. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Ann Wortham of Midland, Texas; sister-in-law Mary Oleta Denton of North Richland Hills, Texas; and, several nephews/nieces: Lewis and Deanna Thames of Pensacola, Florida; Pat Willborn of Lake Livingston, Texas; Lynn and Judy Denton of Austin, Texas; Stan and Jana Trent of Colleyville, Texas; Gary & Katy Wortham of Plugerville, Texas; Larry and DeAnn Birdwell of Austin, Texas; Gary and Kelley Fuqua of Big Spring, Texas; Kim and Kathy Denton of Big Spring, Texas; Carla Denton of Alpine, Texas; and, John and Joyce Rhodes of Oklahoma City; numerous grandnieces/nephews; and, her very best and dear life-long friends: Nelle Coppage-Cain of Dallas, Texas and Zona and John Smaltz of Toledo, Ohio. Marie willed her body to the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine for medical research and training. No memorial services are planned but those who wish to donate a remembrance in Marie's honor may do so to the University of Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation.

Other close relationships are Jana and Leslie are 3C, Nancy and Leslie are 2C1R, Jana and Nancy are 1C1R, Elma and Sheila/Shelly are aunt and nieces, and Sheila and Shelly are siblings. The most-recent common ancestor shared by all seven are John Wheat and Sarah, the sixth GGPs of Jack and Elma and the seventh GGPs of Jana, Nancy, Leslie, Sheila and Shelly.
  • Maternal relationship is confirmed by a triangulated group on GEDmatch consisting of Tommy Harris, Jana Trent and Richard Ryker who share a 7.6 cM segment on chromosome 17. Tommy and Jana are 3C1R; Tommy and Richard are 7C1R; and Richard and Jana are 8C. The most-recent common ancestors shared by all three are John Wheat and Sarah, the sixth great grandparents of Tommy and the seventh great grandparents of Richard and Jana.
  • Maternal relationship is confirmed by a triangulated group on Gedmatch consisting of Tommy Harris, Jana Trent, Arthur Coffey, and Leslie Boyd who share a 13.1cM segment on chromosome 17.
