PALMYRA — George L. Coldwell, 59, died at a Pittsfield hospital, Feb. 2, shortly after being admitted.
He was born in Codyville, June 8, 1911, the son of Harry and Cora (Day) Caldwell. He was a veteran of World War II, and had been employed at the Hartland Tannery for the past 25 years.
He is survived by his mother, of Hartland; six sisters, Mrs. Aubrey (Sarah) Raye of Vanceboro, Mrs. Madeline Kaherl, Mrs. Richard (Jennie) Bowman, Mrs. Elwood (Irene) Emery, Mrs. Roland (Barbara) Dubey, all of here, Mrs. Hazel Batchelder of Hartland; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Donald H. Shorey Funeral Chapel, Hartland, with the Rev. William Morley of Corinna officiating.
Spring burial will be in the Warren Hill Cemetery here.
Friends may call at the chapel Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8 p.m.
