Aurelian Currey Sr. was born in Appalachia, in Alabama.

Pvt. Aurelian Ophenallia Currey was born on 30 Sep 1903 in Albertville, Marshall, Alabama, USA. He was the son of Robert Ophenallia Currey and Alice Viola Eison. ^[1]

On 8 Apr 1930, he married Ruth Stickle in Jackson, Alabama. ^[2]

He appears twice in the 1940 US Census. In one instance he is listed in the household of his parents in Chattanooga, Hamilton, Tennessee.^[3] On another schedule, he is listed as a prisoner at the Hamilton County Prison Farm #2.^[4]

He enlisted in the US Army on 31 Aug 1942, and was described at that time as divorced, with no dependents. He had completed three years of high school, and he had been working as a truck driver. ^[5] He returned to the US Mainland by ship on 02 Dec 1945.^[6]

In 1960, he was a salesman living in Chattanooga with his wife, Gladys W. Currey. ^[7] He passed away on 24 Aug 1968 in Chattanooga, Hamilton, Tennessee, and is buried in Chattanooga National Cemetery.^[1]
